What is the best way to make money in new leaf?

After 7pm go to the island and hunt for beetles that spawn on the palm trees and the sharks that spawn in the ocean. It's fast and you can make crazy amounts of money.

Definitely sharks/beetles. also: PERFECT FRUIT! If you can start a farm in your own town and take an inventory full of baskets to another town, you can sell them for 3,000 (and sometimes 4,000) for a single peice of fruit. Which turns out to be 405,000 bells for a full inventory full of baskets(9 fruit), not including mail slots.

I haven't played in a while, but hands down it was fishing for sharks on the island and catching rare beetles. Tons of bells :) hope this helps

Selling beetles in summer is the best way, but in other season you can sell bugs and fish too even if it's slower than the summer

Definitely catching beatles and sharks.

You'll want to look up an island catching guide on youtube or something, there are a lot of things you can do to optimize it like removing the bushes, leaving only a couple of trees, and surrounding the beach with shells so no crabs can spawn :)
